Who is responsible
Maor Shushan, who publishes Fonterie, is responsible for the data described here. Write to contact@fonterie.com about anything in this notice.
On your device
Reading a sheet, tracing a photo and compiling a font all happen in your browser. The images are discarded once they have been traced, and never leave the device.
Your projects — outlines, spacing, kerning and font details — are saved in this browser’s storage, along with your theme, whether cloud save is on, and your sign-in session if you have one. Your choice of language is kept in one small cookie, fonterie-locale, shared between fonterie.com and the studio; it holds the language and nothing else. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes all of it.
If you use cloud save
Cloud save is off until you sign in and turn it on. While it is on, we store:
- your email address, which is your account;
- for each font, its name, style, how many characters are drawn, timestamps and a content hash, for the library list;
- each project itself, compressed, as a private file.
These are stored with Supabase, which runs our accounts, database and file storage on our behalf, in Sydney, Australia. Only your account can read them, and the files are never served from a public address.
That is outside Israel and outside the European Union: if you turn cloud save on, your email address and your projects are transferred there and kept there.
Signing in
Signing in sends a six-digit code to your email address. The address goes to Supabase, which handles the sign-in, and the email itself is delivered by Resend, which sends it on our behalf and keeps the delivery records any email service does.
What we do not do
There are no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. The typefaces the site uses are served from this site. Our hosting provider sees the ordinary request information any web server does, such as IP addresses, and we do not use it to follow anyone. We do not sell, rent or share your data, and we do not train anything on your work.
Deleting your data
- One project: delete it from the library. That removes it from this device and, if it was synced, from your account.
- Your account: choose “Delete my account” in the account menu. It removes the account, your email address and every project stored with it.
- This device: clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
If any of that does not work for you, write to contact@fonterie.com and we will do it for you. You can also ask us what we hold about you, or to correct it.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new date will be at the top, and a change that matters will be announced in the studio first. The terms of service describe the same things in more detail. This English text governs; the Hebrew version is a translation. This version took effect on .
